Two new management contracts won by PMS Managing Estates in Witham and Burnham-on-Crouch
Colchester-based PMS Managing Estates, the leading residential property management company which looks after almost 160 developments across East Anglia, Crawley, London and Hertfordshire, has just secured two new contracts involving 105 flats.
The first is at the Templemead development in Witham containing 60 flats across three blocks and the second is Petticrow Quays in Burnham on Crouch (picture above) containing 45 units.
The new contracts mean the firm, which has been in business for almost 30 years, now manages the flats and commercial buildings owned by more than 6,500 individuals.
Liam Furr, Associate Director, who looks after new business at PMS Managing Estates, said:
“People have the general conception that moving to a new managing agent is tricky and laborious but that is not the case here. We have a new-business team in place to ensure there is a seamless transfer from an existing agent and we take out all the hassle of moving from one to the other.
“Once any transfer is complete our property-management team step in and take over the running of the building.”
Back in 2002, there were only six members of staff at PMS, now there are 30 and the company is planning on taking two new employees, one each for the new-business and property-management teams.
Liam added: “Templemead in Witham is a development built in the mid-80s and is now showing typical build and maintenance issues that affect buildings of this age. We have identified a five-year programme that will allow the development to be brought back to its former glory.
“We secured the contract to manage the Petticrow Quays property in Burnham-on-Crouch after leaseholders asked for our help in guiding them through a Right To Manage legal process that saw them take control of their building from their freeholder.”
Ian Wells, on behalf of the Templemead Management Company directors, said:
“We contacted a number of block management companies and PMS stood out as the clear winner, because of their professionalism and the personal attention we received.
“PMS gave us quick and detailed replies to our specific questions, a clear and inclusive fee structure, and a clear agreement outlining their roles and responsibilities.” The directors also valued PMS’ membership of the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA). He added: “Once we agreed to appoint PMS, the handover process was quick and easy thanks to the company’s clear documentation and attention to detail.”
Dennis Cheek, leaseholder at Petticrow Quays who drove the move to PMS, said: “I had heard about PMS, saw their brochures and got in touch. They are very professional; pragmatic; tackle things in a logical manner and deliver.”
PMS is a member of the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) and all PMS staff are put through training via the Institute of Residential Property Managers (IRPM).
